Low beam
The low beam is part of the headlight.
A road-approved headlight must be able to emit its light in such a way that oncoming traffic is not dazzled. For this purpose, the light is shaped as a so-called low beam. The beam pattern and the brightness of a low beam are prescribed by ECE regulations. A distinction is made between low beams for right hand traffic, where the right-hand side of the road is more strongly illuminated, and for left hand traffic, where the left-hand side is more strongly illuminated. Low beams are mandatory for all vehicle classes.
