“Since mid-January, I have had the opportunity to do my job from Cape Town in South Africa for three months. Apart from the fact that I’m not sitting in an office, you shouldn’t even notice that I’m in a different country.
How does it work? It’s actually just like working from home, except that I’m not sitting at my desk at home, but in a different country. My daily routine in South Africa is actually similar to that in Hamburg, except that it’s 25-30 degrees Celsius here and I get plenty of sun. This has a very positive effect on my mood and motivation. I get up in the morning and drive to a coworking space. This is an office complex for people who don’t need their own office because they mostly work remotely anyway. So everyone is in the same boat!
You spend your lunch break outside enjoying the sun. After work, you have time to take advantage of the good weather, whether it’s for a walk by the sea, to enjoy a coffee with friends you’ve met here, or to go for a jog.”
“And weekends are like holidays. We use them for sightseeing, excursions and to get to know the country even better alongside our work.”
